    • Not being national of a member state of the European Union and not being covered by the previous paragraph, legally resident in Portugal for a continuous period of over two years on 1st January of the year you intend to access higher education, as well as the children who legally reside with you;

    You enjoy equal status to that of any Portuguese student, benefitting from the same conditions of admission to all the programmes of Lusófona University.

    HOW CAN I APPLY?

    Students who concluded Secondary Education or equivalent

    If you have completed Secondary Education (12th grade) or equivalent qualification, you can submit your application through the entry call via the 12th grade. Applications are made online and you may submit all the necessary documents with the online application form. At a later date, these documents can be handed in at our Academic Services Office. Should you prefer, you can also send them by snail mail.

    International candidates for a Bachelor’s degree or an Integrated Master’s degree who attended secondary school or equivalent abroad must do the following:

    Documents to be submitted

    • Certificate of conclusion of Secondary Education (original or certified copy)
    • ENES 2021 File (proof that the entrance exams were taken) - original or certified copy.
    • Personal and fiscal identity document required by the Portuguese law (original and photocopy) as well as a commitment statement that you will later submit your residence permit

    Holders of higher education degrees from foreign institutions can apply for Master’s or PhD degrees at Lusófona University.

    International students who wish to apply to Master’s or PhD programmes must comply with the following requirements:

    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (for applicants for master’s degree) or a Master’s degree (for applicants for PhD degree);
    • Submit the documents listed below;
    • The diplomas and certificates must highlight the circumstances of their emission accurately and must be authenticated by the Portuguese Consulate in the issuing country or, when necessary, be attached with an apostille, under the terms of the Hague Convention, and translated into Portuguese by a certified translator when they are written in a language other than Portuguese, Spanish, French or English.

    Documents to submit by Master’s applicants

    • Copy of the passport;
    • Certificate of Bachelor’s degree (certificates which establish the titularity of the degree);
    • Certificates that establish pass level in courses that don’t award a degree, delivered by higher education institutions, whether national or foreign, in the area of the master’s programme;
    • Academic transcript of the Bachelor’s degree;
    • Curriculum Vitae, dated and signed, preferentially in the Ciência Vitae, FCT-SIG or similar model;
    • Recommendation letter;

    Applicable to the 2nd cycles in Film Studies and in Animation Arts of the Lusófona University – Lisbon campus:

    • Individual portfolio which enables recruiters to appraise the artistic and professional path of the candidates as well as the relevance of their previous experience. This portfolio should be submitted preferably in digital format – applicable to the 2nd cycles in Film Studies and in Animation Arts;
    • Individual project, with note of intent, synopsis and any other elements the candidate deems relevant regarding an original concept for the production of a feature-length film – applicable to the 2nd Cycle in Film Studies

    Documents to be submitted by PhD applicants

    • Copy of the passport;
    • Certificate of Master’s degree (certificate that establish the titularity of the degree);
    • Certificates that establish pass level in courses that do not award a degree, delivered by higher education institutions, whether national or foreign, in the area of the PhD programme;
    • Motivation letter, briefly explaining the reasons for attending the study cycle;
    • Academic Transcript of the Master’s degree
    • Curriculum Vitae, dated and signed, preferably in the DeGóis, FCT-SIG or similar model;
    • Copies of the scientific work of the candidate;

    Applicable to the PhD programmes in Urbanism, Museology, Media Arts, Architecture and Communication Sciences, as well as all PhD programmes in the case of application for a scholarship:

  • Tuition Fees

    Information on tuition fees

    • Foreign/international students benefit from the same tuition scale (monthly fees) as all other students.
      Fees are due until the 8th of each month.
      Foreign/international students are required to pay the first 2 fees when they enrol.

    • 1. Enrolment fee for students admitted to Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias for the 1st time;
    • 2. The enrolment fee may be paid in 3 equal and successive instalments in September, October and November;
    • 3. The enrolment fee may be paid in 4 equal and successive fees in October, November, December and January.
    • 4. For International / Foreign Students:
      • Upon enrolment, the International / Foreign Students must pay the first two tuition fees due, based on the number of ECTS they enrolled for in the academic year, considering a minimum of 20 ECTS of enrolment per academic semester. Until this amount has been paid, no certificates will be issued for the student, namely the certificate to obtain a student’s visa
